Two Weeks Old

Travis is already two weeks old! I can't believe how fast time flies. He is starting to develop a very strong personality. He makes it very clear when he doesn't like something. We now know that he doesn't like getting his diaper changed, taking a bath, being strapped in his carseat, being swaddled in a blanket, and sleeping at night. :) Hopefully he will learn to like some of the above listed things (or at least deal with them). But even with all of this, he is generally a very sweet and easy going baby. I am so lucky to be able to spend this time with him at home.

Nap Time

Travis is finally starting to sleep for a couple hours at a time during the night. Albert and I have now moved into the living room and we are taking turns sleeping on the couch and in the recliner while rocking the baby. That way we can get to him easily and watch late night TV while he eats or we try to get him to go to sleep. He is awake and alert now for quite a while during the day. I love to talk to him and watch him look around. Hopefully this means that he will start to stay awake more during the day and sleep more at night!

Travis loves to rest his head on Daddy's chin while he sleeps.

Baby's First Bath

Travis was given his first bath on Saturday. He wasn't very happy about it at all! He screamed the entire time. Hopefully he will get used to it soon. We used his new bathtub and it was great. We didn't give him the spa treatment yet. Maybe next time. :)
Baby Travis is NOT a happy camper!

Baby Travis

Travis had his first outing on March 1st. He had his first doctor's appointment. He handled it pretty well for the most part. We found out that he lost some weight. He weighed in at 7lbs 7oz. This is a lot less than the 8 to 9 pound baby that I was told to expect!

Travis finally sleeping. :)
I tried to get a close up and ended up making him jump from the flash. We still can't tell who he looks like. I think he looks like Albert. He has dark hair on his head, but his eyebrows and eyelashed are blond! He has some bright blue eyes right now. Maybe we'll break the dominant genes and he might end up with some of me after all!

Travis in his car seat for his first ride in the car. He wasn't happy about being strapped in the seat as you can tell from his serious face, but he did like the car ride itself; he fell asleep immediately!

Travis has Arrived!

On February 26, 2009 at 10:24 a.m., Travis Dominic Cisneros finally arrived! He weighed 7 lbs 14oz and measured at 21 inches long. I went into labor on Wednesday 2/25 at about 8:30 p.m. when my water broke. I still couldn't believe that I was about to be a mom! My labor lasted 14 hours; it was long, exhausting, and painful, but completely worth every moment of it. Now Albert and I are blessed with a beautiful, healthy, strong baby boy.

I still look pretty happy for someone in the middle of some tough contractions!

Finally, A New Car!

So I finally came to terms with the fact that I needed to get a "family car". I really wanted to get a Tahoe or Yukon, or some type of SUV, but with gas prices going up again I had to be practical. Albert and I traded in the truck and purchased a 2009 Nissan Altima. I like the car, it has a lot of neat features. I am still not used to driving so low to the ground, but it is nice to be able to park my car in a regular space! Also, it has been a while since I have had a trunk to put things in. Skyler can get in and out of this car by herself, which is a big plus. Soon Travis will be riding in it and then it will truly be our new "family car".

Baby Shower

My baby shower was awesome! It was held January 31st and the Spaghetti Factory. Good food, cute cake, family, friends, and such wonderful, thoughtful gifts! I couldn't have asked for a better day. Skyler had the time of her life and Albert was there also. He felt a little weird being the only guy (other than the two babies), but we needed the muscle to carry and load all of the things we received. :) He had a great time though. Now the waiting game begins. I can't wait to finally meet my little guy. I hope he will arrive very, very soon!
37 weeks and counting...
